Welcome to our website

pipeband2011The Elgin and District Pipe Band is a Grade 4b band formed in 1975 and consists of members from Elgin and surrounding areas. Our aim is to promote piping & drumming music & education to the community.

We started competing as a full band again in 2010 with some very good results: Turriff 1st, Aberdeen 4th, Mintlaw 2nd - all 4B and all local competitions. We also came 2nd at Mini bands.

The 2011 season saw the band improve on this success: Quartets 2nd, Turriff 2nd (1st drumming, best bass section), Aberdeen 1st (1st drumming), Mintlaw 2nd (1st drumming).

The band are currently the North of Scotland Champions of Champions for drumming in Grade 4b.

Our results are available at www.rspba-nos.org

Our main officials are: Pipe Major Kevin Reid, Assistant Pipe Major Richard Anderson, Leading Drummer Douglas Caldwell, Drum Majors Frank Munro and Pamela Grant, Secretary John Hyndman, Treasurer Suzanne Mortimer and Chairperson Fiona Johnson.

Pipe Major Daniel Littlewood and Pipe Sergeant Sean Littlewood have taken a year out to persue other avenues, the band wishes them every success.
